Birth records are available from 1900 to 3 months ago. A certified birth certificate cannot be mailed to you unless you demonstrate tangible interest and check the appropriate box on the application and have your signature on the application notarized. Applications that are not notarized will not be processed. Non-certified “informational only” copies are available for non-legal matters. 

Birth certificates between 1900 and 1934 may be researched and ordered from the Minnesota Historical Society.

Death records are available since 1908. A certified death certificate cannot be mailed to you unless you demonstrate tangible interest and check the appropriate box on the application and have your signature on the application notarized. Applications that are not notarized will not be processed. Non-certified “informational only” copies are available for non-legal matters.

Death certificates between 1904 and 2001 and may be researched and ordered from the Minnesota Historical Society.

Marriage records - certified copies may be available from the Local Registrar in the county where the license was issued.

Divorce records - certified copies may be available from the Local Registrar in the county where the divorce was granted.
