Another option is to use the resource titled “Criminal Histories (info)” below for information from the Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services (DPSCS) on how to obtain a background check. There are different procedures for employers and individuals, and different instructions for those living within Maryland and those living outside of the state. Fees range from $0 to $37.25. Turnaround time is 10-15 business days.
