Idaho

In Idaho, there are trial courts and appellate courts. The latter consists of the Court of Appeals and the Idaho Supreme Court.

Trial courts include the District Court and the Magistrate Division. The Magistrate handles misdemeanors, civil cases up to $10,000, traffic, juvenile, family law, probate, and small claims cases up to $4,000. The District Court handles felony cases, civil cases of any amount, and appeals from the Magistrate. The State of Idaho is divided into seven judicial districts, each having a District Court.
