New Mexico vital records are restricted access records and are only issued to immediate family members or individuals that demonstrate tangible legal interest. Make certified check or money order payable to "New Mexico Vital Records." Search fees for birth & death certificates are non-refundable if no record is available. There is an additional $15.00 handling fee if you use a credit card to order the certificate. Records available since 1920.
Marriage Records are available from the County Clerk in the county where the marriage license was issued.
To obtain more recent marriage record certificate copies, and locate marriage records from counties not shown below, refer to our New Mexico Recorded Documents page which lists the home pages, mailing addresses, and phone numbers for county clerks. It is likely you will need to ask the clerk to perform a search and send you the records.
Divorce Records are available from the Magistrate Court in the county where the divorce was granted.
