86.5% of the population is White, 0.9% is Black or African American, 7.5% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.5% is Asian, 6.7% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 5.3% is two or more races.  87.1% have a high school degree or higher, and 20.4% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $139,300, there are 12,749 households, an average of 2.74 persons per household.  The per capita income is $25,293,  the median household income is $54,426, and 11.6% of the persons in McClain County are considered below poverty level.
