Wichita County is located in the North Texas Region of Texas.  The County Seat is Wichita Falls and the largest city is Wichita Falls.    The 2014 population estimate is 132,355 and the 2010 census population was 131,669.  The land area is 627.78 square miles and there are 209.5 persons per square mile.

83.2% of the population is White, 10.7% is Black or African American, 17.9% is Hispanic or Latino, 2.2% is Asian, 1.3% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 2.4% is two or more races.  85.2% have a high school degree or higher, and 20.1% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $89,800, there are 48,305 households, an average of 2.45 persons per household.  The per capita income is $22,905,  the median household income is $45,086, and 15.6% of the persons in Wichita County are considered below poverty level.
