Potter County is located in the Panhandle Region of Texas.  The County Seat is Amarillo and the largest city is Amarillo.    The 2014 population estimate is 121,627 and the 2010 census population was 121,073.  The land area is 908.37 square miles and there are 133.3 persons per square mile.

81.3% of the population is White, 10.8% is Black or African American, 36.7% is Hispanic or Latino, 4.6% is Asian, 1.3% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 2% is two or more races.  75.7% have a high school degree or higher, and 15.6% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $85,900, there are 42,751 households, an average of 2.72 persons per household.  The per capita income is $19,861,  the median household income is $37,951, and 23.1% of the persons in Potter County are considered below poverty level.
