Montgomery County is located in the Upper Gulf Coast Region of Texas.  The County Seat is Conroe and the largest city is Conroe.    The 2014 population estimate is 518,947 and the 2010 census population was 455,764.  The land area is 1,041.74 square miles and there are 437.5 persons per square mile.

89.9% of the population is White, 4.7% is Black or African American, 21.9% is Hispanic or Latino, 2.6% is Asian, 1% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.7% is two or more races.  86.3% have a high school degree or higher, and 30.7% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $166,200, there are 163,462 households, an average of 2.87 persons per household.  The per capita income is $32,911,  the median household income is $67,766, and 12.4% of the persons in Montgomery County are considered below poverty level.
