Midland County is located in the West Texas Region of Texas.  The County Seat is Midland and the largest city is Midland.    The 2014 population estimate is 155,830 and the 2010 census population was 136,875.  The land area is 900.30 square miles and there are 152 persons per square mile.

89% of the population is White, 6.8% is Black or African American, 41.1% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.6% is Asian, 1.1% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.4% is two or more races.  81.8% have a high school degree or higher, and 24.4% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $148,600, there are 50,644 households, an average of 2.78 persons per household.  The per capita income is $33,672,  the median household income is $62,993, and 10.4% of the persons in Midland County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 16,151.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $2,276,743, and sales per capita were $18,058.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 2.5%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 24%.
