The 2014 population estimate is 1,855,866 and the 2010 census population was 1,714,774. The land area is 1,239.82 square miles and there are 1383.1 persons per square mile.
85.4% of the population is White, 8.2% is Black or African American, 59.1% is Hispanic or Latino, 2.8% is Asian, 1.2% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.2% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 2.1% is two or more races. 82.6% have a high school degree or higher, and 26.3% have a Bachelor degree or higher.
