Beaver County

Beaver County is located in west central Pennsylvania.  The County Seat is Beaver and the largest city is Aliquippa.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.beavercountypa.gov/.  The 2014 population estimate is 169,392 and the 2010 census population was 170,539.  The land area is 434.71 square miles and there are 392.3 persons per square mile.

91.2% of the population is White, 6.3% is Black or African American, 1.4% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.5% is Asian, 0.1% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.8% is two or more races.  91% have a high school degree or higher, and 21.9% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $115,400, there are 70,867 households, an average of 2.35 persons per household.  The per capita income is $26,258,  the median household income is $49,217, and 12.2% of the persons in Beaver County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 11,685.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $1,555,258, and sales per capita were $8,989.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 3%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 26.5%.
