91% of the population is White, 6.4% is Black or African American, 1.6% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.8% is Asian, 0.3% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.5% is two or more races.  85.7% have a high school degree or higher, and 17.6% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $144,100, there are 14,611 households, an average of 2.59 persons per household.  The per capita income is $24,014,  the median household income is $54,956, and 11% of the persons in Madison County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 3,019.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $958,649, and sales per capita were $22,988.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 0%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 21.9%.
