93.1% of the population is White, 4.1% is Black or African American, 1.6% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.5% is Asian, 0.4% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.8% is two or more races.  84.9% have a high school degree or higher, and 14.6% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $70,500, there are 10,174 households, an average of 2.38 persons per household.  The per capita income is $21,596,  the median household income is $37,800, and 19.1% of the persons in Saline County are considered below poverty level.
