Manatee County is located in west-central Florida.  The County Seat is Bradenton and the largest city is Bradenton.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.mymanatee.org/home.html.  The 2014 population estimate is 351,746 and the 2010 census population was 322,833.  The land area is 742.93 square miles and there are 434.5 persons per square mile.

86.5% of the population is White, 9.3% is Black or African American, 15.3% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.9% is Asian, 0.5% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.6% is two or more races.  87.4% have a high school degree or higher, and 26.6% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $165,400, there are 131,197 households, an average of 2.48 persons per household.  The per capita income is $27,322,  the median household income is $47,876, and 15.1% of the persons in Manatee County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 29,906.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $3,874,822, and sales per capita were $12,339.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 3.8%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 27.9%.
