91.1% of the population is White, 2.1% is Black or African American, 11.2% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.3% is Asian, 2.2% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.2% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 3.2% is two or more races.  89.1% have a high school degree or higher, and 19.5% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $269,400, there are 22,025 households, an average of 2.31 persons per household.  The per capita income is $25,943,  the median household income is $48,426, and 14.5% of the persons in Tuolumne County are considered below poverty level.
