86.3% of the population is White, 1.7% is Black or African American, 13.4% is Hispanic or Latino, 6.8% is Asian, 1.1% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.3% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 3.9% is two or more races.  93.6% have a high school degree or higher, and 35.1% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $342,000, there are 132,709 households, an average of 2.66 persons per household.  The per capita income is $34,886,  the median household income is $72,725, and 8.7% of the persons in Placer County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 36,890.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $6,180,067, and sales per capita were $18,622.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 1.2%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 28.3%.
