Mendocino County is located in the North Coast of California.  The County Seat is Ukiah and the largest city is Ukiah.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.co.mendocino.ca.us/.  The 2014 population estimate is 87,869 and the 2010 census population was 87,840.  The land area is 3,506.34 square miles and there are 25.1 persons per square mile.

86.6% of the population is White, 1% is Black or African American, 23.5% is Hispanic or Latino, 2.1% is Asian, 6.3% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.2% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 3.9% is two or more races.  85.2% have a high school degree or higher, and 22% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $323,600, there are 33,878 households, an average of 2.52 persons per household.  The per capita income is $23,306,  the median household income is $43,469, and 20% of the persons in Mendocino County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 11,015.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $1,259,064, and sales per capita were $14,716.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 0.3%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 27.6%.
