88.1% of the population is White, 9.3% is Black or African American, 2.3% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.8% is Asian, 0.4% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.3% is two or more races.  82% have a high school degree or higher, and 15.5% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $134,600, there are 31,353 households, an average of 2.63 persons per household.  The per capita income is $23,872,  the median household income is $50,786, and 15.2% of the persons in St. Clair County are considered below poverty level.
