Canada business registries, agriculture suppliers, importers, and companies offering products and services in the arctic sector.

Industry Canada (also known as Strategis) database of Canadian Federal Corporations. Search by corporation name, corporate number, business number, province, status, or governing legislation (Business Corporations Act, Board of Trade Act, Cooperatives Act, etc.). Results are free and include name, status, corporation number, business number, registered office address, directors, corporate history, and a description of annual filings.

Canadian companies registered with the Ontario Aboriginal Business Directory or the Canada Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business.

System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) Canada. This service allows you to search for information and documents on public companies. Search by company name, industry group, date, or document type (annual reports, disclosures, executive compensation, financial statements, management reports, notices, proxy circulars, etc.). Results provide the company name, date of filing, and document in pdf format.

Alberta index of registered or licensed charitable organizations and businesses.

BC Online is the gateway to the British Columbia corporate registry. Access requires a subscription and a fee for each search. Price is $7 for a registry search (plus a small service charge).

Manitoba doesn't provide a corporations database online for free, but they do have a pay service and information here on how to do a search by mail or in person. If you choose the fee-based Companies Office service you may search or reserve a name, find the status of the company, find previous company names, and determine the agent or attorney for service.

This is a free service from the Manitoba Companies Office that provides weekly lists (going back 16 weeks) of new registrations of corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, dissolutions, and changes in business name, membership, or capital.

New Brunswick Corporate Affairs Registry Database. Search by business number, reference number, or search corporate names by keyword. Basic results are free and include the reference number, status, and company name. Detailed reports require a small fee that may be paid by credit card.

Newfoundland and Labrador Corporations Registry by company name or number. Basic results include the company name, status, number, type, and registration date. Click on the company name for additional details.

Northwest Territories corporate registry. Find corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability partnerships. Initial search is free, details must be purchased.

Access Nova Scotia, Canada calls this their Registry of Joint Stock Companies and it is searchable by company name of registry number. Included are limited companies, partnerships, trade names, unlimited liability companies, insurance companies, and societies. Basic and detailed results are free.

Provided by the Nunavummi Nangminiqaqtunik Ikajuuti (NNI), the Nunavut business registry allows you to to search for free by community, business name, or by goods and services. Results include community, region, type of business, business name, registration date, address, phone number, email address, the name of the resident manager, number of employees, goods, and services.

Ontario doesn't provide a free online corporation registry, but you may use this fee-based oncorp direct service to search for company names, order business name and limited partnership reports, obtain a Certificate of Status, or register or renew a business name.

The Corporate / Business Names Registry is a service of the Prince Edward Island Department of Environment, Labour, and Justice. Included are corporations, associations, trade names, partnerships, limited partnerships, sole proprietorships, cooperatives, insurance companies, and credit unions. Search by registration number, business name, type, status, or registration date. Results are free and include general information, officers, and trade names.

The Quebec Enterprise Register is a database of registered businesses operating in Quebec and includes corporations, companies, partnerships, associations, and sole proprietorships.

Register with Information Services Corporation to search the Saskatchewan Corporate Registry for corporations, cooperatives, partnerships, and sole proprietorships that have fictitious business names (a name other than that of the owner). You have the option of setting up a deposit account or use a credit card to pay for your searches.

Toronto Stock Exchange Listed Company Directory. View alphabetical lists of currently listed, recently listed, delisted, or suspended public companies, or search by name or symbol.

The Yukon Department of Corporate Affairs is responsible for maintaining the corporate and securities registry, but they do not offer an online searchable database of corporate records. What you'll find here is contact information, including the location, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and email address for the Department and they can provide you with the information on how to do a company search.
