Rice County is located in southeastern Minnesota.  The County Seat is Faribault and the largest city is Faribault.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.co.rice.mn.us/.  The 2014 population estimate is 65,151 and the 2010 census population was 64,144.  The land area is 495.68 square miles and there are 129.4 persons per square mile.

91.8% of the population is White, 3.8% is Black or African American, 7.7% is Hispanic or Latino, 2.1% is Asian, 0.7% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.6% is two or more races.  90.5% have a high school degree or higher, and 27.7% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $187,500, there are 22,299 households, an average of 2.51 persons per household.  The per capita income is $25,370,  the median household income is $59,915, and 11.6% of the persons in Rice County are considered below poverty level.
