Oregon

In Oregon, there are local courts, state trial courts, and appellate courts. The latter consist of the Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court.

The local Municipal, County, and Justice Courts are responsible for ordinance & traffic violations, misdemeanors, and small claims matters.

The state trial courts include: the Tax Court, which handles tax law, and tax appeals through its Magistrate Division; and the Circuit Court, which handles civil, misdemeanor, felony, divorce, custody, juvenile, adoption, commitment, and probate cases.
