Oklahoma has Municipal Courts, District Courts, specialty courts, and three appellate courts. The appellate courts consist of the Court of Civil Appeals, the Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Oklahoma Supreme Court.

Municipal Courts are responsible for violations of city ordinances. District Courts are trial courts that handle civil, criminal, probate, and family cases. Oklahoma has 77 District Courts within the 9 judicial districts dividing the state. Specialty courts include the Workers Compensation Court that handles worker compensation claims; and the Court on Tax Review that handles cases involving illegal tax levies.
