Municipal Courts are responsible for violations of city ordinances. District Courts are trial courts that handle civil, criminal, probate, and family cases. Oklahoma has 77 District Courts within the 9 judicial districts dividing the state. Specialty courts include the Workers Compensation Court that handles worker compensation claims; and the Court on Tax Review that handles cases involving illegal tax levies.
