82.2% of the population is White, 1.3% is Black or African American, 49.3% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.5% is Asian, 12.7% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 2.3% is two or more races.  78.7% have a high school degree or higher, and 19.4% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $122,800, there are 5,329 households, an average of 3.23 persons per household.  The per capita income is $18,104,  the median household income is $34,036, and 25.1% of the persons in Socorro County are considered below poverty level.
