Holmes County is located in east central Ohio.  The County Seat is Millersburg and the largest city is Millersburg.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.co.holmes.oh.us/.  The 2014 population estimate is 43,898 and the 2010 census population was 42,366.  The land area is 422.53 square miles and there are 100.3 persons per square mile.

98.8% of the population is White, 0.4% is Black or African American, 0.9% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.1% is Asian, 0.1% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 0.5% is two or more races.  55.2% have a high school degree or higher, and 8.5% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $151,400, there are 12,467 households, an average of 3.37 persons per household.  The per capita income is $17,177,  the median household income is $45,477, and 15.8% of the persons in Holmes County are considered below poverty level.
