The Wyoming Open Records Act, found in Title 16, Article 2 of the state statutes, provides that all public records be available for inspection by any person. Public records can be in the form of papers, forms, correspondence, books, photos, films, sound recordings, maps, etc.

Exceptions listed in the Act include investigative records, test questions, property appraisals, interagency memoranda, emergency procedures, data revealing schematics & security systems, medical records, adoption records, trade secrets, library patron records, and records otherwise protected by law.
