Dinwiddie County is located in southeastern Virginia.  The County Seat is Dinwiddie and the largest city is McKenney.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.dinwiddieva.us/.  The 2014 population estimate is 27,859 and the 2010 census population was 28,001.  The land area is 503.72 square miles and there are 55.6 persons per square mile.

64.8% of the population is White, 32.6% is Black or African American, 2.9% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.6% is Asian, 0.4% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.6% is two or more races.  80.2% have a high school degree or higher, and 12.8% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $165,300, there are 9,932 households, an average of 2.73 persons per household.  The per capita income is $23,781,  the median household income is $52,027, and 13.2% of the persons in Dinwiddie County are considered below poverty level.
