Pasquotank County

Pasquotank County is located in northeastern North Carolina.  The County Seat is Elizabeth City and the largest city is Elizabeth City .  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.co.pasquotank.nc.us/.  The 2014 population estimate is 39,787 and the 2010 census population was 40,661.  The land area is 226.88 square miles and there are 179.2 persons per square mile.

58.1% of the population is White, 37.8% is Black or African American, 4.4% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.4% is Asian, 0.5% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 2.1% is two or more races.  83.7% have a high school degree or higher, and 20.1% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $171,600, there are 14,399 households, an average of 2.65 persons per household.  The per capita income is $22,745,  the median household income is $46,053, and 18.4% of the persons in Pasquotank County are considered below poverty level.
