Dona Ana County

Dona Ana County is located in southwest New Mexico.  The County Seat is Las Cruces and the largest city is Las Cruces.  The Official Web Site is located at https://donaanacounty.org/.  The 2014 population estimate is 213,676 and the 2010 census population was 209,241.  The land area is 3,807.51 square miles and there are 55 persons per square mile.

92.2% of the population is White, 2.2% is Black or African American, 66.6% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.3% is Asian, 2.3% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.2% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.8% is two or more races.  77.5% have a high school degree or higher, and 26.6% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $139,100, there are 73,797 households, an average of 2.79 persons per household.  The per capita income is $19,565,  the median household income is $37,933, and 27% of the persons in Dona Ana County are considered below poverty level.
