65.4% of the population is White, 33.3% is Black or African American, 1.2% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.2% is Asian, 0.2% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 0.9% is two or more races.  78.2% have a high school degree or higher, and 12.3% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $68,800, there are 3,757 households, an average of 2.72 persons per household.  The per capita income is $16,897,  the median household income is $31,039, and 24.4% of the persons in Carroll County are considered below poverty level.
