94.1% of the population is White, 1.9% is Black or African American, 19.4% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.6% is Asian, 1% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.4% is two or more races.  71.3% have a high school degree or higher, and 9.4% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $91,200, there are 7,917 households, an average of 2.74 persons per household.  The per capita income is $16,992,  the median household income is $35,535, and 22.7% of the persons in Yell County are considered below poverty level.
