The resources below list the U.S. Department of Justice national registry, along with the state registries for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. If you're looking for a local registry, use one of the search fields at the top of the page to navigate to the county you'd like to search, though keep in mind that most sex offender databases are now found at the state level.
Noticed that Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, and California are missing from the list? Just scroll down the page and you'll find them.
The reason they're there is because we're reorganizing this section to make the site easier to use. As public records started appearing on the Internet in the mid-90s, cities and counties offered sex offender databases, but there were few statewide services. Now all states offer statewide searches and the local databases are disappearing. So in this area we'll offer access to the nationwide Department of Justice database and the statewide sex offender registries. If you're looking for a local database, we're going to keep those in our city, town, and county sections.
