1) Free searches - listed below. Connecticut provides free access to a number of different types of criminal record databases. Disposed court records are not available, but you can search statewide criminal and traffic court dockets of current cases using the resource below, along with state and federal inmates, statewide registered offenders, federal criminal court records (through the inexpensive PACER U.S. District Court system), and arrests in certain cities. Closed criminal court records are not available.
2) Connecticut State Police Bureau of Identification. Another option is to use the resource titled “Criminal Histories | Information” below for information from the Connecticut Department of Public Safety (DPS) on how to obtain a criminal history from the State Police Bureau of Identification. The DPS provides two types of searches: one by name and date of birth, the other by fingerprint search. Searches cost $50 and must be submitted by mail. Results are returned by mail as well.
