Gregg County is located in the East Texas Region of Texas.  The County Seat is Longview and the largest city is Longview.    The 2014 population estimate is 123,204 and the 2010 census population was 121,724.  The land area is 273.30 square miles and there are 445.4 persons per square mile.

75.5% of the population is White, 20.3% is Black or African American, 17.5% is Hispanic or Latino, 1.3% is Asian, 0.9% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.8% is two or more races.  82.5% have a high school degree or higher, and 19.9% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $121,300, there are 45,292 households, an average of 2.61 persons per household.  The per capita income is $24,064,  the median household income is $45,525, and 17.6% of the persons in Gregg County are considered below poverty level.
