75% of the population is White, 6.7% is Black or African American, 17.9% is Hispanic or Latino, 15.9% is Asian, 0.4% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0.1% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.9% is two or more races.  91.3% have a high school degree or higher, and 45.9% have a Bachelor degree or higher.

The median home value is $451,400, there are 335,422 households, an average of 2.69 persons per household.  The per capita income is $43,347,  the median household income is $83,794, and 7.2% of the persons in Bergen County are considered below poverty level.

The total number of firms, at last estimate, was 106,754.  Retail sales (in $1000) were $16,474,977, and sales per capita were $18,602.  The percentage of black-owned firms is 4.6%, and the percentage of women-owned firms is 27.1%.
