Jersey County is located in west-central Illinois.  The County Seat is Jerseyville and the largest city is Jerseyville.  The Official Web Site is located at http://www.jerseycounty-il.us/.  The 2014 population estimate is 22,571 and the 2010 census population was 22,985.  The land area is 369.27 square miles and there are 62.2 persons per square mile.

97.5% of the population is White, 0.6% is Black or African American, 1.2% is Hispanic or Latino, 0.4% is Asian, 0.3% is American Indian or Alaska Native, 0% is Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and 1.2% is two or more races.  88.3% have a high school degree or higher, and 16.2% have a Bachelor degree or higher.
